MOM'S HOUSE VIRTUAL TOUR--Click
IT'S A WIN/WIN FOR LCRTA AND OUR COMMUNITY
Raffles are always fun, especially if you win! Uniquely, at our Lucas County Retired Teacher's luncheons there are always many winners: enjoying a great meal, talking with friends, and helping our community can contribute to a winning event.
In 2009 we began a 50/50 raffle at our luncheons, these raffles would provide an opportunity through which our retired educators can continue their life of service by becoming a partner in a larger community effort. With each purchased ticket at the luncheon, half the money collected goes into our Community Partner fund. The other half is divided and two people are the lucky winners of that money.
Additional winners are the nine charities we have adopted to support they are: Aurora Project, Bethany House, Boys and Girls Club, East Toledo Family Center, Family House, Leading Families Home, Luchas County Children's Services, Mom's House, and Reading for Literacy. Each of our charities is researched and we communicate directly with the Executive Directors to find out what they may need. This is why LCRTA has earned a reputation as a recognized philanthropic organization in our area.
As you can see, our members may have left the classroom, but they continue to contribute and serve our community in new ways. They do this by attending luncheons, donating needed items, and purchasing raffle tickets. So, from diapers to dollars it is a win/win situation for everyone!
If you are not a member already, consider joining this great group of retired educators doing great things.
